Slate Concert Space

Slate is a performance space to encourage and nurture younger talent in performance arts. The solution for the acoustics specified panels that were set at regular intervals, alternating between reflective and absorptive material. To unify the spatial experience within a stringent budget made painting the best choice. The pinched curved lines, generated by a custom algorithm were continuously tweaked to fit the site conditions. The pattern was mapped on the various vertical elements to facilitate the painting by a team of skilled billboard painters.
